Gas Prices, WTF?

matrix4bOk, Real proof that the Oil companies are worse that most politicians. I just read in the newspaper today that gas prices in this area are expected to get below $3.00. AND they are not expected to go as high as they did this summer for a long time, baring a refinery going down or pipes bursting or something catastrophic related to the actual delivery and creation of gasoline.
The reason they sighted it is going down? Due to a surplus in oil that our country has. No I am not lying about what I read.
Ok, flash back to the begining of the summer, what was the reason why the prices went so high? Because we did not have enough oil and that the world was running out of supplies. WTF?! We all new that the oil industry was selling us a line at that time but come on, Now we get a whole flip-flop? Ok, the summer was tough and people drove less because the prices were so high. NOW the oil companies say they have a surplus and are lowering the prices. Yes, Surplus because we all didn't drive enough for the summer season because prices were so high. Just another line of BS that shows that when the demand is lowered due to too high of price then te prices should and will go down. Score one for Capatolism, I guess.
Ok, I will admit that I am not an economist and haven't a clue about macro or micro-ecconomics but I have been seeing a bit of a line of BS.
Yes, I am happy that the prices went down. No, I don't think that I will be driving more or less than I have to because of it. And I do wish that I could get a vehicle that runs on electricity and will go at 65 miles an hour and lower with low recharge amount. I also would like to get solar panels on the roof to pay for all my driving and electricity and be able to sell power to the power company. But hey, Life goes on.
I wait for the time that so called "Alternate Fuels" become primary, not because of need but because we want it that way and gasoline/oil products are the "Alternate Fuel"
