It just occured to me that I have a LOT in the carboy to be bottled by september. 4 baches, 2- 5 gallons and 2- 6 gallons. Depending on how much is lost in the next racking that is 20-22 Gallons of Mead. Which is actual about 20 six packs of beer bottle size volumes. An I have planed about 20 more gallons of mead to start in the fall. A Pumpkin, by popular demand another Rockbiter, maybe, Possibly a cranberry, a Peach or a Pear and I will see what is in season in the fall. I may just delay the start of the primary and try to time it to be ready for fruit when spring rolls around again. Now the Pumpkin, I have been putting some extra thought into the recipie. I was thinking not only the pumpkin meat but 1/2 a stick of cinnamon, 1/2 a whole nutmeg, 1 cup of sliced almonds, and 1-2 vanilla beans. Possibly the vanilla and netmeg in the primary and the rest in the secondary. Almonds added after about 1 racking after the primary. Not sure if I want the pumpkin meat in the primary. Given the flavor of the Pumpkin and that it is a low juice item it might be best.
