I am gald to help, and if it makes you feel any better, I did the exact same thing to our slum lord from the Elliot St. House and got the exact same response... I think because I highlighted the part of the statute where it says "liable for 3X deposit plus court costs if you lose in court". Our deposit was over a grand, so I think she did the math, :)
