As it was pointed out by belleweather, Not much is said about the recent boming of what is known as The Tube in London. Let's think about this a moment:
The Tube is a major transport system that covers a lot of London, this is what I Gather not actually going to London. Well, Once upon a time London pioneared the concept of the Subway and imported the idea to New York City. This is an Icon of National pride for citizens and also as seen by belleweather's post a part of london that is apreciated and treasured by travelers to London. It is also a representation of acomplishment by the human species. For I could be wrong, I think that it was pretty much the first mass transit system that worked and survived since the Romans created the highway.
Now that I have this a little in perspective, let's move on to another tragidy. 9/11. This shocked our nation greatly and also rocked many people's worlds that couldn't give a fig about the world trade center. It was just there. Boom, 9/11! All of the sudden most of america goes on a patriotic kick and arab looking americans get ratially profiled. Yadda, Yadda, Yadda. We all remember the story. You couldn't go to a movie even without being told how great america is at least once. Lot's of Media Coverage and even a war or two spawned.
Now flash back to The Tube. How much media coverage does this aspect of National Pride get? One day, maybe two. Headlines on the paper and an "oh isn't that intresting" report or two by the media news stations. Goodness knows that I don't pay much attention to news much but COME ON PEOPLE!! Have a little empathy for another country. This is Britian's 9/11!! This is their major disater. Even a Tsunami or Huricane has more puch in the media. And to hear even a law firm make light of it was obscene.
This brings me to the Terrorist thoughts.
What the Fuck is on the minds of the terroists in doing this. The world's Trade center of New York, London's Tube, and probably many other things that my poor news avoided mind has not heard of. The only way that a terrorist is going to evoke more of a reaction is to start bombing the 7 wonders of the world, or even National Monuments. Like say The Ifle Tower or how about the statue of Liberty? I do say that this terrorist thing is working. Terrorism is designed to make people afaid and limit the future of a country or ideal. Fuckem, I Say!! I am not going to be afaid that I am going to be blown up if I decide to travel or visit a new place or even to walk down the fucking street to work. Not happening. My Life will go on. It is not going to work and the more similar minded people there are out there will put the terrorists out of business. I mean for god's sake we can't even let our kids into school without having a security gaurd and a metal detector present. A place we WANT our kids to go to and have fun at is now a likened to a prison even more! I hate to say it but I want the "Old Days" (as horrible as it was at times) back when the bigest worry on a kid's mind is weather he can pass a test or get a kiss out of the girl he likes, or even to get the girl he likes to notice him. Is this a bad thought? I bill myself as being a simple person that is so simple that I an complex. This does not mean that I am simple minded.
Where is the source of it? Possibly it is going to fast, too soon and throwing logic or more global thinking out the window, just for the thrill of going faster or farther than before. Pretty soon being a Billionaire won't mean much. What is the solution? I don't know, It could be as simple as people waking up and having a bit more fun in their lives or a bit more humor. The human race is currently racing too much and not being "human" enough. The human race needs to stop racing. A kind of Chaotic Harmony needs to be acheived. It is daunting when freedom is not free and democracy is not demographic. There are those that say life isn't fair. Very true it isn't. But it should be. Or at least understandable. I think that my stress level is affecting my personal harmony. Hmm, I need to acheive this back again for myself. A drop in the pond makes waves but a rock in the pond or veggitation in the pond helps disapate those waves. This is where I live. Many of my freinds say that I am a very stable person and I am like a rock. This is why I seem so calm sometimes. My presence has even been described as a soothing sound that you do not know is there until gone. This may be so. I don't know. This may be tooting my own horn. I think that I am trying to do my part to make the world more pleasent and this holisticly speaking is having a small effect on the world at large.
That's All that can be asked of anyone. "Do your Part" I think that this may help. I may just need to empty out my head of the chaos that fills it sometimes and meditate.
Sorry for the long rant. Especially without having much to post lately. Wedding is getting closer. I am doing my best to make at least 2 people happy, myself and my wife-to-be. So in final words today I have 2 things to say:
1. Don't forget to have fun.
2. Don't forget to "Do yor Part" in this world.
