Jumping on the Band Wagon, sort of.
Post your ten greatest holiday wishes to your LJ. They can be anything -- big, small, fandom-related, not-fandom related, whatever. The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want. Make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part: If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
My top ten holiday wishes:
1) My good freinds to have their wishes, Primarily for Caerinsmith and Bellweather to have a Joyous Virgo baby (can't remember the Sign that comes before it) (For those not keeping track this would mean that the discovery of the coming baby around say...Now or before the Yule Tide wanes)
2) My Wife to get a computer that is capable of running (Stablly and Coolly) EQ2.
3) For My computer to stop being so glichy (always a problem on every boot up, possible that my hard drives dying horribly) and preferably to get a new system of top quality as moving into the Ghz speed range would be nice.
4) To get my Stone shop finally set up and doing stonework regularly
5) A Table based Belt/disk sander might be nice.
6) To get the brakes on my van fixed and everything up and leagle on it.
7) Time! (nuf said)
8)A Kiln for myself and my Wife as she is thinking about doing ceramics.
9) To Understand and be able to do something about what I understand, even if it is sharing that understanding.
10) To Make my wife feel like the beautiful and wonderful person that she is.
